Overview

WebLaunch.ca ("WebLaunch", "we", "us", or "our") is a web and software studio based in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. We design, build, and operate websites and applications for small businesses. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It covers our own website (weblaunch.ca) and the applications we build and operate, including our QuickBooks Online integration that connects to Intuit on your authorization. By using our website or any application we operate, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to provide our services: - Information you give us: your name, email address, phone number, business name, and the contents of messages you send us (for example, through a contact form or a booking). - Account and usage information: how you interact with our website or app, including pages viewed, actions taken, and approximate location. - Device and technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, and similar diagnostic data. - Cookies and analytics: we use privacy-respecting analytics to understand traffic and improve our services. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

QuickBooks Online (Intuit) data

If you connect a QuickBooks Online (QBO) company to an application we operate, we access your QuickBooks data only with your explicit authorization through Intuit's OAuth 2.0 flow. What we access and store: - OAuth tokens: access and refresh tokens issued by Intuit, plus your QuickBooks company (realm) ID. These let the app call the QuickBooks API on your behalf. - Company data via the QuickBooks API: the specific records the application needs to function (which may include customers, invoices, estimates, payments, items, and chart-of-accounts data). We request the minimum API scopes required for the features you use. How we use it: - To operate the features you connected QuickBooks for (for example, syncing records, reading or writing invoices, or reporting). - We do not use your QuickBooks data for advertising, and we do not sell it. WebLaunch is an independent developer. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Intuit Inc. "Intuit" and "QuickBooks" are trademarks of Intuit Inc.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to: - Provide, operate, maintain, and improve our websites and applications. - Authenticate connections and keep integrations (including QuickBooks) working. - Respond to your inquiries and provide support. - Send service-related communications (for example, important changes to an app you use). - Protect against fraud, abuse, and security risks, and to meet legal obligations.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information or your QuickBooks data. We share information only in these limited cases: - Service providers (sub-processors): trusted vendors that host our infrastructure, send email, or provide analytics, acting on our instructions and bound by confidentiality. They may only use the data to provide services to us. - Legal requirements: when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security. - Business transfers: if WebLaunch is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred, subject to this Privacy Policy.

Data retention

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy: - QuickBooks tokens and data: retained while your integration is active. When you disconnect the integration (in the app or from within QuickBooks), we stop accessing your QuickBooks data and delete the stored tokens and associated QuickBooks data within 30 days, unless we are legally required to keep it longer. - Other personal information: retained while your account or relationship with us is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, and security obligations.

Your rights and how to request deletion

You can: - Disconnect QuickBooks at any time from within the application or from your QuickBooks account (Apps > Connected apps). Disconnecting revokes our access. - Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information and QuickBooks data we hold. To make a request, email info@weblaunch.ca with the subject "Privacy request". We will verify your identity and respond within 30 days. We honor the rights available to you under applicable Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) and other laws that may apply to you.

Security

We protect your information with appropriate technical and organizational measures, including encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and encryption of sensitive credentials such as OAuth tokens at rest, access controls, and least-privilege practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and review our practices regularly.

Data location and international transfers

We are based in Canada and primarily process data in Canada and the United States using reputable cloud providers. Where data is transferred across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Children's privacy

Our websites and applications are intended for businesses and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
